At St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better.
In September 2017, the Government announced new increased funding for physical education (PE) and sport. This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision.
Funding will be allocated to all mainstream and state-funded schools with primary phase pupils from September 2017. Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach performance levels they are capable of.
Please view the government website for more information on this. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/pe-and-sport-premium-for-primary-schools#funding-for-the-pe-and-sport-premium
Schools must spend the funding on improving their provision of PE and sport. The link below takes you to a table which shows our PE and sport premium allocation for the current academic year and details of how we intend to spend it.
