We have chosen a school uniform, as we believe it gives children a sense of belonging and develops pride in their school. We hope that you will support us in maintaining the high standards of neatness our children exhibit.
At St Benedict’s we have a smart uniform that all children are encouraged to wear. We believe what a child wears to school reflects his/her attitude to learning as well as portraying the school’s ethos and shared positive values.
The main changes to the uniform in KS2 are that the children wear a shirt and tie. Prior to starting in the juniors it would be beneficial for all children to practise putting on a tie in order to develop your child’s ability and confidence in this skill. Ties are available to purchase from the school office but please allow adequate time for these orders to be processed.
Please ensure your child has the correct uniform and could we remind you to name/label all your children’s clothing clearly. If there isn’t a name in your child’s clothing, it is often very difficult to identify them from among the many other red jumpers and cardigans in lost property!
Children are not allowed to wear jewellery at school, as it is easily lost and can be dangerous. Earrings are strictly forbidden and nail varnish is also not allowed. We do allow watches to be worn but they are brought to school at your child’s own risk.
Our current uniform is as follows:
Key Stage 1 Boys Pale blue polo shirt Grey trousers Grey socks Red school sweatshirt Black school shoes (no trainers)
